EM7 provides cost-effective IT management solution to enable Managed Service Provider business
WarrenTEK is a Heathcare MSP focusing on delivering hosted IT management solutions for physician offices, medical practice software and online radiology and imaging solutions. They chose ScienceLogic's EM7 system for an affordable systems management solution that would best support their managed service provider business.
WarrenTEK had a specific customer opportunity to manage radiology and imaging systems that are more than mission-critical - they can be life-saving. To maximize uptime of these systems, WarrenTEK turned to EM7.
opus:interactive
EM7 replaces multiple point solutions and automates the manual processes used for billing and ticketing, saving $130K in engineering resources
Opus Interactive is a full-service MSP, providing web, email and application hosting, colocation, virtualization services and Internet access.
With an expanded, 100% wind-powered data center to accommodate more customers and more services, Opus Interactive needed a monitoring solution that would automate manual processes and provide efficiencies and economies of scale.
EM7 provides Opus Interactive a single, integrated management solution for their mission-critical operations and automates billing ticketing, alerts and escalation. Deploying EM7 immediately freed the resources of two full-time engineers and enables them to grow the business using existing resources.
“We now do more in a fraction of the time, using existing staff, which allows our engineers to dedicate their time working on projects, rather than on tasks.” Jeremy Sherwood, Business Solutions Executive, Opus Interactive.
Apptix
EM7 replaces multiple point solutions including NetIQ and Remedy ticketing system and integrates with Microsoft Operations Manager for an improved SLA Management solution with Immediate ROI
As a major service provider to service providers, Apptix had developed a complex IT platform running many applications across multiple environments and data centers. The pre-existing solution included many independently managed point solutions and Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM).
Choosing EM7 has delivered immediate ROI and a single, integrated system for network management, automated alerts, ticketing and escalation and greatly improved SLA management. With visibility and control of the entire IT infrastructure now, the IT staff can be more efficient and responsive to customers - delivering improved service levels. The integration with Microsoft MOM alone creates massive efficiencies; previously, alerts from MOM were delivered as email messages - from 25 to 30 thousand per week which had to be manually processed. Now, MOM delivers alerts into the EM7 system, where they are organized, de-duplicated and viewable via EM7's Web-based portal."
Navy Knowledge Online
EM7 provides total insight into Navy Online training systems resulting in more uptime and higher proficiency ratings for IT operations staff
Under the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) and associated websites provide centralized Navy education, training and professional growth management. Because its "customers" are Navy personnel stationed all around the world, the site's operations staff must meet rigorous demands for on-time and reliable performance.
Prior to EM7, they were using What's Up Gold to ping servers which only reported if they were up or down. They understood the limitations of their monitoring, but they never wanted to spend the kind of money that a framework solution, for example, could have provided. EM7 now provides them total insight into the NKO systems at a fraction of the price of a framework solution. The biggest compliment NKO gave ScienceLogic and EM7 was that we do what we say we will do, and in fact, we deliver even more without charging extra for it. EM7 has helped the NKO IT operations staff to achieve the highest proficiency ratings and deploy an EM7 high-availability monitoring solution to support their operations continuity plans.
Los Angeles Unified School District
EM7 replaces Nagios and other Open Source point solutions
The Los Angeles Unified School District was 6 months into a major consulting, development and integration project to customize Nagios and other open source point solutions to monitor their IT systems.
They decided to stop the project and purchase EM7 after they realized that the customized multiple-source solution they were planning would still not have all the functionality that EM7 alone could offer them right away. Furthermore, a 3-year TCO analysis showed that EM7 would be far less costly.
Gannett Media Technologies Incorporated (GMTI), a division of Gannett Co., Inc.
EM7 replaces IBM Tivoli and Mercury Interactive SiteScope and provides a cost-effective, scalable solution for growth and automated failover
GMTI delivers highly reliable content delivery and a vast array of managed solutions for the newspaper industry. Gannett's media network alone has 99 daily newspapers - including USA Today, the nation's largest-selling daily newspaper - and 21 television stations.
They were using IBM Tivoli for IT systems monitoring and Mercury Interactive SiteScope to manage several hundred URLs; Tivoli and SiteScope were not integrated with each other creating a silo environment. When it came time to grow the business from hundreds to thousands of URLs, their current solutions were actually cost-prohibitive.
GMTI chose EM7 for a truly cost-effective and scalable solution that provided the features of Tivoli and SiteScope - including IT systems monitoring and Web content verification - plus built-in integration for visibility and control over their entire IT infrastructure. Using EM7, GMTI can create customized Web portals for their "customers" to see their systems' health for themselves anytime, anywhere. And because of the cost savings delivered by EM7, they were able to build a remote, redundant facility for automated failover and still save hundreds of thousands of dollars that it would have cost to replicate their old solution in a mirrored high availability configuration.
EM7 Version 5.1 features integrated virtualization management features and reporting.
"ScienceLogic provides a complete IT management suite on an appliance at a fraction of the cost of existing suite vendors. Companies, including some large enterprises, are buying into it."
